Our Battalion Crest
The battalion’s official motto of “Consecra toris, Decoris Et Honestas” translates to, “Dedicated to Grace and Honesty”.
The shield is the age old heraldic device symbolizing a loyal warrior past. The powder horn, recalling our revolutionary past and vigilance against tyranny, signifies our ties to the Minuteman. The star represents Massachusetts as one of the original 13 colonies. The field of blue symbolizes honor and was the color of the Continental Army’s uniform. The Liberty Tree, the name sake of Liberty Battalion, symbolizes defiance in the face of adversity. The elm tree was the symbol of the Sons of Liberty and signifies our ties to honor, courage, and commitment. The gold chevron signifies the quest for the second lieutenant’s gold bar and its shape represents the growth of a student from Cadet to an Officer.
